BANANA, CHICKEN & PEANUTS? This insane sounding combination is actually a moreish Swedish gratin from the 1970s popular with children. Try it and tell us what you think!

Serves 4

  • 600g grilled chicken, shredded or in thin fillets

  • 250ml cooking cream

  • 175g KAVLI Bacon Cheese

  • 100ml sweet chilli sauce

  • 2 bananas, sliced

  • 3 cups cooked rice

  • 1/2 cup salted peanuts


  1. Pre-heat the oven to 225°C.

  2. Spread out the chicken evenly in a baking dish.

  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cooking cream, KAVLI bacon cheese and sweet chilli sauce. Pour over the chicken in the baking dish. Mix slightly to make sure all the chicken is coated with the sauce.

  4. Top with the banana slices.

  5. Cook the gratin in the middle of the oven for about 20 minutes till everything is hot and bubbly.

  6. Remove the gratin from the oven and sprinkle over with the peanuts. Serve with the rice.
